With the start of the shooting season approaching rapidly, it’s not just time to clean your gun and find your kit. For you and your dog to enjoy your day to the full, it is equally important that your dog is prepared for what’s ahead. Ideally you will have already started exercising your dog and addressed making the change from a maintenance to a working diet. We would recommend doing this 4-6 weeks before the start of the season to ensure your dog has the right amount of condition and is fit enough to collect all the game that will be coming his way. Remember it’s never too late to start and it will stand you both in good stead.
At the early stage of the season Chudleys Original and Chudleys Classic are the ideal products to feed from our working dog food range. They will support his energy needs and provide him with a balanced diet, plus other beneficial ingredients will help keep him looking and feeling fantastic. As the season progresses, keep an eye on your dog’s condition – he may need to move onto a higher protein/higher fat diet if he is struggling to maintain weight.
A helping hand
If your dog is getting on a bit or shows the signs of the odd ache and pain after a hard day’s work, Chudleys has come up with a range of herbs and treats to offer additional support.
Chudleys Rewards for joints contain green lipped mussel and Mobility® herbs to provide nutritional support for joint integrity and function, and Salmon Oil, a good source of omega 3 fatty acids, is also included. They come in a handy pocket sized bag and are a healthy and beneficial way to reward you dog for all his hard work.
Chudleys Mobility and Devil’s Claw Root also provide nutritional support for healthy joints and are available as dry herbs or liquid tinctures.
